Spring luncheon to raise funds for Peoples Library

Peoples Library will host its annual spring luncheon April 27 at the Banquet on Barnes event center at Knead Community Café, 1011 Barnes St., New Kensington.

Doors open at 12:30 p.m. and a buffet lunch will be served at 1:30. There will be a basket raffle, gift card and lottery trees, a bake sale and a 50-50 raffle.

In Our Schools

Allegheny Health Network Schools of Nursing

Allegheny Health Network School of Nursing is accepting applications for full-time and part-time students for classes that will begin in August.

Applications are being accepted through July 1 for AHN’s nursing schools at West Penn Hospital in Pittsburgh’s Bloomfield neighborhood and at Citizens School of Nursing in the Galleria at Pittsburgh Mills, Frazer. Classes for full-time students at both schools begin Aug. 19. Students in the part-time LPN-RN program will begin Aug. 12.

On-site dormitory-style housing is available at West Penn School of Nursing and Citizens School of Nursing has free, on-site parking. Financial aid is available, including federal government grants and student loans, state grants, scholarships and private educational loans.
