Leechburg Hall of Fame induction slated
The 18th annual Leechburg Hall of Fame dinner and induction ceremony will be May 7 at Gilpin Fire Hall, 113 Firehall Road.
Bishop Larry Kulick of the Catholic Diocese of Greensburg will be master of ceremonies. Individuals being inducted into the Hall of Fame include the Rev. James Arter, Ian Coyle and Robin Patton.
Cocktails will be at 5:30 p.m. Dinner will be at 6 p.m., followed by the induction ceremony. Tickets are $25.
Tickets are available at Nextier Bank, Leechburg Public Library and Coco Coffee House, all on Market Street. The event is sponsored by the Leechburg Area Community Association.
Shuttle available for New Ken residents to local grocery stores
The New Ken Downtown Partnership and Wesley Family Services are sponsoring a free shuttle service from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays for city residents
Residents will be picked up at Kensington Arms, Pioneer Apartments and Parnassus Manor and taken to Golden Dawn and Aldi, both in New Kensington, and Walmart and Aldi, both in Pittsburgh Mills in Frazer.

Electronic waste collection set at Cook Medical
Cook Medical will host a free electronic waste collection from 8 a.m. to noon April 22 at its Parks location, 1186 Montgomery Lane.
Items that will be accepted include computers, CRTs, flat screen and projection televisions, battery backups, CRT computer monitors, cellphones, tablets, rotary phones, solar panels, lead acid batteries, gaming systems, printers, keyboards, mice, hard drives, circuit boards, laptops, servers and cords.
Unacceptable items include fluorescent bulbs, light bulbs, U-shaped LED lights, LED bulbs, alkaline batteries, broken lamps, smoke detectors, multi vapor bulbs, neon lamps, lithium batteries, devices that contain mercury and nickel-cadmium batteries.
