Springdale students to present ‘Wizard of Oz’

The drama department of Springdale Jr.-Sr. High School will present the musical, “The Wizard of Oz,” at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. April 24 in the high school auditorium, 501 Butler Road, Springdale.

Admission is $12 and district Gold Cards will be honored. Advance ticket sales will be online at ShowTix4u.com Monday through Thursday. The box office will be open for in-person, cash-only ticket sales at 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 1 p.m. Sunday.


Volunteers sought for annual Tarentum clean-up day

A clean-up day will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday in Tarentum, as part of the Great American Cleanup.

Volunteers are needed to help in the project. Community and civic associations, schools and youth groups, clubs, businesses and sports teams are welcome.

To offer your time, meet at 9:45 a.m. at the amphitheater in Riverview Memorial Park, First Avenue. Gloves, garbage bags and vests will be provided. For details, contact Carrie at 724-448-1470 or cfox@tarentumboro.com.


Memorial Day parade participants welcome

The annual Leechburg Memorial Day parade will begin at 10 a.m. May 30.
