Recycling event to celebrate Earth Day
An Earth Day celebration will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday at the office of state Rep. Mandy Steele, 1296 Pittsburgh St., Cheswick.
Those attending can drop off glass bottles, jars and jugs for recycling and will receive a reusable tote bag and plant. Trees from Tree Pittsburgh will be available while supplies last.

Electronic waste collection set at Cook Medical
Cook Medical will host a free electronic waste collection from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday at its Parks Township location, 1186 Montgomery Lane.
Items that will be accepted include computers, CRTs, flat screen and projection televisions, battery backups, CRT computer monitors, cellphones, tablets, rotary phones, solar panels, lead acid batteries, gaming systems, printers, keyboards, mice, hard drives, circuit boards, laptops, servers and cords.
Unacceptable items include fluorescent bulbs, light bulbs, U-shaped LED lights, LED bulbs, alkaline batteries, broken lamps, smoke detectors, multi vapor bulbs, neon lamps, lithium batteries, devices that contain mercury and nickel-cadmium batteries.
Monthly Harrison outreach canceled
The Veggies for All and Cosmetics Closet held monthly by Building Block of Natrona is canceled until further notice due to organizational changes.
