Valley High School Drama Club presents ‘The Addams Family’

The Valley High School Drama Club will stage the musical comedy “The Addams Family” at 7 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and 2 p.m. April 14 in the high school auditorium, New Kensington.

The show features 32 students in seventh through 12th grade. For tickets, visit tickets.vhsdrama.org or at the door.


Prom gown giveaway planned in Harmar

Bless A Dress will sponsor a free prom gown giveaway for high school students April 11 to 14 at Pittsburgh Indoor Sports Arena, 22 Rich Hill Road, Harmar.

Hours are 4 to 8 p.m. April 11 and 12 and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 13. New and gently used dresses as well as shoes, jewelry and accessories will be available. No reservations are required.

Earth Day cleanup scheduled April 28

Volunteers are needed for an Earth Day cleanup set for 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 28 in Tarentum, Brackenridge and Harrison.

Drive-thru food distribution set Tuesday at Pittsburgh Mills

Allegheny Valley Association of Churches and the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank will host a drive-thru food distribution for anyone in need from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Tuesday in parking lot of the former JC Penney store at the Galleria at Pittsburgh Mills, Frazer.

Reservations are not required. Do not arrive before 4 p.m. Guests should remain in their vehicles and open their door or trunk and will be served on a first come, first served basis.

April 16: The PriorityCare program at Allegheny Valley Hospital will offer a free educational program about Medicare at 2 p.m. in the Charles W. April 28: Veterans of Foreign Wars District 29 Auxiliary Steering Committee will sponsor a bingo at 1 p.m. at the Veterans of Foreign Wars, 894 Veterans Lane. Jefferson Township

Tuesday: Concordia at Cabot sponsors a free monthly caregiver support group at 2 p.m. the second Tuesday of each month in the Lund Care Center private dining room, 134 Marwood Road. Use Entrance 4. Kiski Township

Tuesday: The diaper pantry at Spring Church Lutheran Church, 3623 Lutheran Church Road, will distribute diapers from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the church. Distributions will be the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month. Recipients must register in advance. First-time recipients must provide their own ID, the child’s birth certificate and a current WIC or SNAP card. Registration: 724-478-1528.

Lower Burrell

New Kensington

Tuesday: A representative from PA CareerLink will be available from 10 a.m. to noon in the office of state Rep. Jill Cooper, 356 Freeport St., suite 100. Services available will include resume and job search help, assistance navigating the Pa. CareerLink website, registering for workshops and interviewing techniques.

Vandergrift  

Today : TinyCause animal shelter will host a vaccination clinic for cats and dogs from noon to 4 p.m. at the shelter, 131 Columbia Ave. Cost: rabies, $10 for cats or dogs; 3-year rabies with paper verification of previous year’s shot, $15; DHPP that protects against canine distemper, adenovirus, parainfluenza, parvovirus, and coronavirus, $15, and FVRCP feline combination vaccine, $15. Cash only will be accepted. Dogs must be on a leash and cats must be in a carrier.

Tuesday: The YoYos Needle Arts group at Vandergrift Public Library will meet from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the library reading room, 128C Washington Ave. No reservations required; just stop in. All skill levels welcome; however, this is not an instructional program. Details: 724-568-2212.
