Mobile vaccination clinic planned Aug. 18 in Harrison
Community Library of Allegheny Valley will host a mobile covid-19 vaccination clinic from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 18 at the library, 1522 Broadview Blvd., Natrona Heights, Harrison.
Vaccinations will be provided at no cost. Appointments are optional and walk-ins are welcome. For an appointment, visit vax4.alleghenycounty.us/patient/s/ and select the community library location.
The event is sponsored by the Allegheny County Health Department and Covid Field Response.
Free concert planned Friday in Freeport Riverside Park
Freeport Renaissance Association will sponsor a free concert from 7 to 10 p.m. Friday in Riverside Park.
The Murphy’s Music Center Big Band will be featured. Bring a blanket or lawn chair to sit on.
Free clothing, school supplies to be distributed
A free clothing giveaway will be from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at Evangel Heights Church, 120 Beale Road, Buffalo Township.
Infant, kids, juniors and adult sizes will be available. Non-perishable grocery items and backpacks filled with school supplies will be distributed while they last. Everyone is welcome.
Astronomers plan weekend Star Parties
Amateur Astronomers of Pittsburgh will host Star Parties at 8:20 p.m. Friday and Saturday in the Nicholas E. Wagman Observatory, 225 Kurn Road, in Deer Lakes Regional Park, Frazer, weather permitting.
Amateur astronomers, students and the general public are welcome. Bring binoculars, a blanket and camping chair. If you obtained a telescope recently and don’t know how to use it, you are invited to bring it. Members of the group will help you. Please use parking lights only when you drive through the park gate.

Burrell High band to preview halftime show
Burrell Marching Band Preview Night will be at 7 p.m. Friday at the high school stadium, Puckety Church Road.
Gates open at 6 p.m. There will be basket and 50/50 raffles and snacks will be available.
Everyone is welcome. Proceeds benefit the Burrell Marching Band and Auxiliary.
