Cornhole, card tournament to honor fallen Brackenridge Chief McIntire

The Chief Justin McIntire Memorial Cornhole, Euchre and Texas Hold ‘Em Tournament will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Sept. 9 at Pittsburgh Brewing Co., 150 Ferry St., Creighton, East Deer.

Ther will be food, drinks and music. To register a team for the events, visit Chief Justin McIntire Memorial Foundation on Facebook.

Free lunch offered Wednesday at Allegheny Valley Church of God

Allegheny Valley Church of God, 216 Catalpa St., New Kensington, will serve free grab-and-go lunches at noon Wednesday.

Neutering clinic planned for male cats

Animal Protectors of Allegheny Valley is offering a new program for male cats “No Fathers Day” Aug. 24 at the shelter, 730 Church St., New Kensington.

Neutering and rabies vaccinations will be available for $30; feline distemper, an additional $10; and microchipping, an additional $25. Payment will be required at time of drop-off. No feral cats will be accepted.

Today: A car show to benefit Leechburg Youth Baseball Association will be from noon to 6 p.m. in Gilpin-Leechburg Park, 167 Park Road. Vehicle check-in begins at 11 a.m. There will be prizes, food trucks, vendors, a DJ, basket raffle and 50/50.

Harmar

Wednesday: Fox Chapel Area High School will host a Vitalant community blood drive from 2 to 7 p.m. at the Vitalant Donor Center, 2585 Freeport Road, Suite 207. Recipients must drive up and remain in their vehicles. First-time recipients must provide their own identification, the child’s birth certificate and a current WIC or SNAP card.

A $20 per vehicle fee will benefit the Allegheny County Department of Human Services.

Leechburg

Monday: The Board of Directors of Leechburg Public Library will meet at 6:30 p.m. at the library, 139 Market St. Public welcome.

Monday: Leechburg Volunteer Fire Company will host bingo at 7 p.m. at the firehall, 268 Canal St. Doors open at 5 p.m. The kitchen will be open.
