Adventures with Wine dinner to benefit Peoples Library
The Peoples Library Adventure with Wine dinner will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Oct. 17 at the New Kensington library, 880 Barnes St.
Several different wines will be paired with food presented by Hoffstot’s Cafe Monaco of Oakmont and there will be a basket auction. The menu includes miniature chicken saltimbocca, tempura shrimp, miniature Caesar salad, pumpkin ravioli, mini toasted almond tortes and an Italian antipasto display.

Back-to-School event planned in Vandergrift
The free Cuts for Kids event will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday in Kennedy Park, Vandergrift.
Free cuts will be available from Willy T’s Cuts and there will be free food and book bags. The event is sponsored by KVL and Ramsey’s Place.
Dogs welcome at Tails on the Trails walk fundraiser
The 14th annual Tails on the Trails dog walk to benefit Animal Protectors of Allegheny Valley will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 23 at Northmoreland Park, Allegheny Township.
Check-in will be at pavilion 11 by the lake. There will be games, food trucks and more. Collect pledges in advance to earn a prize. Cost is $35 if paid by Sept. 14 and will be $40 the day of the event.

New gaming clubs available at Leechburg Public Library
Leechburg Public Library, 139 Market St., has partnered with Video Gaming Club USA to create gaming clubs for children in grades 3 through 12.
The clubs meet on Mondays and Saturdays when the library is closed. Activities include video games, board games, card games and STEM activities. Donations are needed for the groups include new or gently used board games, boxes of individually-bagged snacks and individual juice boxes and cases of water.

Tarentum church plans outdoor worship service, festival
First Baptist Church of Tarentum will have an outdoor worship service at 10:30 a.m. Sunday in the amphitheater of Riverview Memorial Park, First Avenue, Tarentum. A picnic will be afterward.
The church will sponsor a vacation Bible school festival from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 26 at the church, 410 Third Ave., Tarentum. There will be lessons and activities for all members of the family. A free lunch will be provided by FatCat Subs.
The public is welcome at both events.
