National Night Out planned in Northmoreland Park

A National Night Out celebration will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at pavilion 8 in Northmoreland Park, 280 Markle Road, Allegheny Township, rain or shine.

Local law enforcement officers and first responders will be on hand, and there will be snacks and children’s activities. Music will be performed by Band Together Pittsburgh.

The event is sponsored by the Council on Substance Abuse and Youth Northmoreland and the Westmoreland Drug and Alcohol Commission.

Meals On Wheels volunteers needed

Celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, Highlands Meals On Wheels is seeking volunteers to deliver food on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays to local residents.

Storyteller Tim Hartman to perform in Tarentum

Interactive storyteller Tim Hartman will give a free performance at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Carl J. Magnetta Amphitheater in Riverview Memorial Park, Tarentum.
