Weekend Civil War history program planned

Roaring Run Watershed Association will sponsor A Walk Through History on the Roaring Run Trail from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at the trailhead in Apollo.

There will be encampments by the 62^nd Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry Living History Family, the 40^th Pennsylvania Volunteer and 4^th Pennsylvania Light Artillery, food, wagon rides, children’s activities, a battle reenactment and history programs.

Donations will be accepted and there will be a 50/50 raffle. Shuttles will run from 310 Clifford Ave., Apollo.

Casino Theatre plans auditions for holiday show

The Casino Theatre in Vandergrift will hold auditions for its 26^th annual Hometown Christmas production Aug. 28 at Just Dance by Justin Albert, 154 Farragut Ave., second floor, Vandergrift.

Plan to arrive before 6 p.m. when information about the show will be discussed. The production will be Nov. 24, 25 and 26 at the theater.

This year’s show will be a play with a large cast and cast members must be at least 5 years old. Adults should be prepared to sing a short selection and children will be asked to read from a script that will be provided.
