Small Acts of Kindness
Did your neighbor call and check on you, or bring a face mask or groceries? The Stroller wants to recognize those around us who are performing small acts of kindness for others during this stressful time. Send a short, one-paragraph note highlighting someone and how they helped you, your family or your organization to The Stroller at vndnews@tribweb.com.
TryLife Center accepting donations
The TryLife Center in Lower Burrell is accepting donations of gently-used children’s clothing in sizes newborn through 4T, maternity clothes, highchairs, pack n’ plays, walkers and infant seats.
Other items needed include diapers, wipes and bottles. Items that cannot be accepted are toys, books, games, adult clothing, children’s clothing size 5T and larger, used cribs, used car seats and furniture.
Donations should be dropped off from noon to 6 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays at the red donation door at the center, 1155 Wildlife Lodge Road. Any items left outside of these hours will be exposed to the weather.
Springdale Library to reinstate fines
Springdale Free Public Library will reinstate fines Sept. 1 for all overdue books.
To avoid fines, return your book or renew it online at springdalepubliclibrary.org. For details, call 724-274-9717.
Allegheny Valley Association of Churches Food Bank open Wednesday
The Allegheny Valley Association of Churches Food Bank will be open to anyone in need from 1:30 to 5 p.m. Wednesdays at 1913 Freeport Road, Natrona Heights, Harrison.

Food truck event planned Wednesday in Apollo
The Wheel Good Wednesday food truck event sponsored by the Apollo Events Committee and Apollo Area Historical Society will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the old Stanford lot on Clifford Avenue.
This week’s truck lineup will include Speal’s On Wheels, Kaczor Ravioli Co., Michele’s Mobile Meals, Steel City Chimneys, Wine O’Clock Somewhere, Rollin Up and Hot Ash Doughtastic Sandwiches.
