Inclusion games planned for special needs children

The Alle-Kiski Inclusion Games will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Sept. 3 at K-9 Officer Derek Kotecki Memorial Park, 730 Wildlife Lodge Road, Lower Burrell.

Special needs children age 5 to 21 can compete in kickball, soccer, cornhole, softball distance throwing, relays and more. Rain date is Sept. 4.

Western Pa. toy run to benefit children’s charities

The 33rd annual Western Pennsylvania Pittsburgh Toy Run to benefit local children’s charities at Christmastime will from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. be Sept. 11 at the Lower Burrell Veterans of Foreign Wars, 1601 Wildlife Lodge Road.

All brands of motorcycles are welcome. Admission is one new toy in original wrapping or $15 and includes food, refreshments and entertainment afterward by the band Sourmash. No stuffed animals, please. There will be games, a silent auction, 50/50 raffle and bike show with prizes. Rain or shine.

The largest organized club or group to register will receive donation to present to the children’s charity of their choice for use at Christmastime and a plaque. Sponsorship opportunities are available.
