Animal Protectors of Allegheny Valley, New Kensington, needs wet and dry cat food and litter for its community pet pantry.

All brands and sizes of food, soft treats and litter are needed. Bring items to the back door of the shelter at 730 Church St. and ring the doorbell.

Tarentum concert to feature American Pie

Tarentum Summer Concert Series will feature the band American Pie in concert at 7 p.m. Thursday in the Carl J. Magnetta Jr. Memorial Amphitheater in Riverview Memorial Park with the band American Pie.

The Snack Shack opens at 6 p.m. The concerts are sponsored by Tarentum Recreation Board.

Salvation Army free lunch distribution offered Thursday

The Allegheny Valley Salvation Army and Community Center in Brackenridge offers free grab and go lunches from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursdays in parking lot at the center, 917 Brackenridge Ave.
