Dance planned for young adults with special needs

A dance for young adults with special needs will be from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. Sept. 25 at Laube Hall, 115 Community Park Road, Freeport.

Cost is $25 per attendee, and $15 for a chaperone, and includes snacks and drinks. There will be a DJ, dancing and a limbo contest. Those attending must be at least 16 years old. All staff including the DJ have clearances.

Animal Protectors accepting donations for its pet pantry

Animal Protectors of Allegheny Valley, New Kensington, needs supplies for its community pet pantry.

Items needed most include adult dog food, wet and dry cat and kitten food, blankets for cats and cat litter. Bring items to the back door of the shelter at 730 Church St. and ring the doorbell.

StoryWalk scheduled for garden area of Oakmont Carnegie Library

Oakmont Carnegie Library will host a free Storywalk Sept. 1 through 29 in the Allegheny River Blvd. side of the library’s outdoor garden, 700 Allegheny River Blvd.

Visitors can read the story, “A Stone Sat Still,” by Brendan Wenzel page by page as they stroll around the outdoor path.
