Local bands to rock the weekend for charity
The Rock For Life benefit weekend will be Friday, Saturday and Sunday outside at JB’s Roadside Bar and Grille, 1633 Saxonburg Blvd., West Deer.
Music will begin at 7 p.m. Friday and 5:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Bands scheduled include Dying Breed, Chain Reaction and Big House Pete on Friday; Right Turn Clyde, Flux Capacitor, Kill the Drama and the Holy Gift on Saturday; and the Knockoffs, Para Bellum, Dimwit and Black Ridge on Sunday.
Admission is $10 per night and there will be vendors and concessions. The mission of Rock for Life is to provide financial support to needy individuals in western Pennsylvania who are suffering from life-threatening diseases. For details, visit rockforlifeconcert.com.

Allegheny Valley Association of Churches has free support services available for anyone who is having trouble making ends meet, is unemployed or needs help with budgeting and talking to bill collectors.

Saturday: Zodiac Motorcycle Club will sponsor Ride For Pittsburgh to raise money for Pittsburgh Hires Veterans. Registration will be at 10:30 a.m. at the club, 1809 Fifth Ave., and kickstands up will be at noon. The ride will go to Rimersburg Veterans of Foreign Wars where refreshments will be served and return to Arnold for a silent auction, dinner and a 50/50 raffle. Cost: $20 per rider; $10 per passenger.
