Armstrong outdoor center to host program about elk
The Outdoor Discovery Center at Crooked Creek will offer a live interactive program for all ages, “Learn About Elk,” at 7 p.m. Aug. 17 at the center, 142 Kerr Road, off Crooked Creek Dam Road.
Reservations are required. To register, visit armstrongcenter.org/odc-events/. The event is sponsored by the Keystone Elk Country Alliance and the Outdoor Center.
The Outdoor Discovery Center at Crooked Creek is a multi-use facility operated under the auspices of the Armstrong Center for Community Learning and is available year-round to organized groups and businesses for environmental education, workshops, meetings or retreats.
Cat food, litter needed at Animal Protectors
Animal Protectors of Allegheny Valley, New Kensington, needs wet and dry cat food and litter for its community pet pantry.
All brands and sizes of food, soft treats and litter are needed. Bring items to the back door of the shelter at 730 Church St. and ring the doorbell.
