Drive-through food distribution set for Tuesday at Pittsburgh Mills
Allegheny Valley Association of Churches and the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank will host a drive-through food distribution for anyone in need from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday in the parking lot of the former Sears store at the Galleria at Pittsburgh Mills, Frazer. No cars are permitted to arrive before 5 p.m.
Reservations are required to ensure enough food is available. To make a reservation, visit pittsburghfoodbank.org/drive-up or call 412-460-3663, ext. 655. Have your license plate number of the car you will be in at the event, name, email, zip code, date of birth and current weekly income on hand. Bring your confirmation page or email for your reservation to the event.
The event will serve 600 cars. There are no exceptions to one reservation getting two shares of food. For a car to get two or three shares of food, the car must have more than one family or household that has competed a separate reservation. The same car and license plate can be used up to three times for the same event.
Individuals must remain in their vehicle except to use the provided outdoor restrooms. After pulling up to the distribution area, recipients should put their car in park and unlock the trunk or backseat for the food the be loaded.

Oakmont/Verona Kennywood Day set for Aug. 19
The 108th Oakmont/Verona Kennywood Day will be Aug. 19 at the park in West Mifflin.
Tickets are available from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Oakmont Chamber of Commerce office, 504 Allegheny River Blvd.
Cost is $29 for a ride all day pass and $19 for a senior citizen pass for those who are at least 55 years old.
There will be no bus transportation offered this year.
Free milk product distribution scheduled Tuesday
A free drive-through dairy product distribution will be at noon Tuesday at Citizens Hose Fire Company, 965 Burtner Road, Natrona Heights, Harrison.
Recipients should drive up, remain in their vehicle and boxes will be loaded into the car’s trunk. No registration is required. Service will be first come, first served, one box per family.
The event is sponsored by Harvest Community Church, Harrison, in conjunction with Marburger Dairy, the USDA Food and Drug Administration, local dairy producers and Southern Baptist Disaster Relief. For details, visit harvestpa.org or call the church at 724-548-5643.
Community Library conducting September cash calendar raffle
Community Library of Allegheny Valley is sponsoring a cash calendar raffle for September.
Winning numbers will be taken from the 7 p.m. Pennsylvania Daily Pick 3 drawing. Cost is $5 for two numbers. Ticket numbers will be chosen at random and e-mailed to you. Winnings will be mailed. For tickets, visit the library website.
