Fundraisers to benefit Roaring Run Watershed Association

Roaring Run Watershed Association is selling 2022 calendars as a fundraiser.

Calendars are $10 and have photographs of the new covered bridge and scenes during the four seasons from along the trail . To buy a calendar send an email to roaringrun@gmail.com or visit Creekside Diner, 4695 Route 66, Washington Township, or Headlines Hair Salon, 1211 Route 356, Allegheny Township.

There are also three plaques available inside the new bridge. Each plaque costs $500. For information, call Ken at 724-681-6317.


Freeport EMS conducting subscription campaign

Freeport Emergency Medical Services is continuing its annual subscription campaign for 2021.

Cost is $60 for individuals and $100 for families. The ambulance company provides service to residents of Freeport, South Buffalo and parts of Buffalo and Winfield townships. To subscribe and for information, visit freeportems.com.


Deadline approaching for Springdale letters to Santa

Children in Springdale can drop off their letter to Santa Claus in his mailbox located at the School Street entrance to the borough building, 325 School St.

The North Pole elves will pick up the letters and take them to Santa. Letters should include the child’s name and address. All letters dropped off by Friday will receive a reply.


Santa’s ride rescheduled in Lower Burrell

Santa Claus will ride through the streets of the Kinloch section of Lower Burrell on a fire truck from Lower Burrell No. 1 Department beginning at 6 p.m. Wednesday.

The event was originally scheduled for Thursday.


Free live Nativity display planned in Upper Burrell

First Baptist Church, 3740 Seventh St. Road, Upper Burrell, will host a free drive-thru live Nativity with music from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the church.

Today: Apollo Area Historical Society will be open from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the WCTU Building, 317 N. Second St. The current exhibit is a vintage toy display. The museum will close Saturday for the winter.

Today: Apollo Hose Co. No. 2 will host bingo at 7 p.m. at the firehall, 325 N. Fourth St. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Prize amounts have been raised and there will be a $1,000 must-go jackpot. Details: 724-478-4831.

Harrison

Today: The Agape Thrift Shop at Grace United Methodist Church, 1333 Freeport Road, will be open from 1 to 4 p.m. Masks required. Clean fall and winter clothing in all sizes is needed. Today: Allegheny Valley Association of Churches Food Bank will be open to anyone in need from 1:30 to 5 p.m. at 1913 Freeport Road, Natrona Heights. Pull into the center parking lot and food will be placed into your vehicle. Those who are not yet registered should come from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Friday: Natrona Heights Veterans of Foreign Wars will have bingo at 7 p.m. at the post, 894 Veterans Lane. Doors open at 6 p.m., and there will be specials, a 50/50 raffle and final game jackpot.

Kiski Township

Today: A fundraiser to benefit Champion’s Crusaders Rescue will be from noon to 8 p.m. at Fox’ Pizza Den, 3529 Route 156, Spring Church.
