Festival of Trees raffle drawing set Wednesday

Allegheny Valley Hospital Auxiliary will sponsor its annual Festival of Trees raffle through Wednesday to benefit projects supporting the hospital, 1301 Carlisle St., Harrison.

Each hospital department decorates a tree to be raffled off and they are on display in the lobby. Tickets are 10 for $5 or 20 for $10 and are available weekdays in the hospital lobby. Cash or checks will be accepted. Winners receive a fully decorated tree. The drawing will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday.

Dec. 22: Beckley Jones, 5 is collecting blankets and gift bags for patients in the oncology department at Armstrong County Memorial Hospital, East Franklin. Donations can be taken to Chicora Alliance Church, 310 E Slippery Rock St. by Dec. 22. Donations will be delivered to the hospital on Dec. 23.

Freeport

Wednesdays: The Blessing Closet at Freeport United Methodist Church, 211 Fourth St., will be open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. All items are free, but donations will be accepted. Items available include clothing of all sizes, bedding and window items. Donations of clothing, shoes and boots welcome; must be laundered and free from smoke and pet hair. Wheelchair accessible. Hampton  

Today: The Greater Pittsburgh Civil War Roundtable will host a free program, “Music of the Civil War” by Steve and Lisa Ball at 7 p.m. at the Hampton Community Center, 3200 Lochner Way. Public welcome.

Wednesday: Allegheny Valley Association of Churches Food Bank will be open from 1:30 to 5 p.m. at 1913 Freeport Road, Natrona Heights. Food bank participants can receive food allotments twice per month. Those who are not yet registered should come from 3 to 4 p.m. on Wednesday. Jan. 17: Tri-County Trout Club is accepting table reservations for its annual sport show and flea market planned at Patterson Hall at Guardian Angels Parish, 800 Montana Ave. Vendors must sell new, used or collectable fishing, hunting, camping or sports items.
