Santa to visit West Deer with township firemen
Santa will travel through West Deer with the township volunteer fire companies this weekend.
Today’s schedule will begin at 5:45 p.m. with Department No. 1 at Bakerstown-Culmerville, to Monier, Shuster, Logan, Moretti Trailer Park, Curtisville 1 and 2, and Saxonburg Blvd. to Benjamin.
Company No. 2 will travel with Santa beginning at noon Saturday on Stonecrest, Deer Park, Magill plan, Russellton, Monier, West Starz, Russellton, Dorseyville and Starr roads.
Saturday travels will continue at 5:45 p.m. and travel Saxonburg Blvd. to McKrell Road, Marshall, Poma, Russellton, Superior, Tarentum Culmerville, Route 908 Extension, Millerstown Culmerville and Blanchard.
The firefighters from Department No. 3 will transport Santa beginning at 4 p.m. Sunday through the Cedar Ridge Plan, Grouse Run, Steeplechase, Shoff Farms and Lager Farms.
Monday’s visits will begin at 6 p.m. through Fawn Haven No. 2 and 3, Hytyre Farms, Hunt Club, Whispering Pines, Copper Creek, Bairdford and the Links at Deer Run.
Times and routes may change slightly depending on emergencies.
Vandergrift Library makes temporary changes to schedule, services
Vandergrift Public Library will be open through Jan. 4 for lobby services and curb-side pickup only.
Access to the library stacks, meeting rooms and sitting areas will not be permitted The main lobby will be open for book requests, pickups and limited copier, fax and printing services. Wi-Fi access is available outside the library 24 hours per day all days of the week.
Returns can be placed into the book drop outside the front entrance. All materials that are not on reserve for other patrons will be auto renewed and fines waived.

Boy Scout tree sale sold out
