Train display continues through Jan. 9

Bull Creek United Presbyterian Church, 224 Tarentum-Culmerville Road, is hosting its 10th annual holiday train display from 4 to 8 p.m. Dec. 28, 29 and 30 and 2 to 6 p.m. Jan. 7 and 8 at the church.

Admission is $4; $1 for children. Non-perishable food items will be collected to benefit the Allegheny Valley Association of Churches Food Bank. For a private group viewing, call Billy at 724-272-3401 or Rick at 724-448-8444.

Dec. 31: Tickets are on sale for a New Year’s Eve bingo set for 8 p.m. at Apollo Hose Company No. 2, 325 N. Fourth St. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Cost: $25 before Dec. 22; $30 at the door, includes hot dog and sauerkraut. Full kitchen will be available. Brackenridge

Today: Trinity United Methodist Church, 857 10th Ave., will have Christmas Eve services at 2, 7 and 11 p.m. at the church. The 7 p.m. service will be family-oriented with carols that children like to sing. A concert featuring cello, flute and piano will begin at 10 p.m. and a candlelight service will be at 11 p.m.

Harrison

Dec. 31: The Veterans of Foreign Wars will host a New Year’s Eve party from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. at the post, 894 Veterans Drive. There will be food, party favors, a New Year’s toast, cash bar, music by Americana and a 50/50. Cost: $25 each. Public welcome. Tickets: stop in at the post or at the door.

Jan. 14: Tri-County Trout Club will sponsor a sport show and flea market from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Patterson Hall in the basement at Guardian Angels Parish, 800 Montana Ave., Natrona Heights. Doors open for vendors at 7:30 a.m. and buyers at 9 a.m. Vendors who reserve a table can sell new, used or collectible sporting items; no firearms or ammunition. Lower Burrell

Today/Sunday: Grace Community Presbyterian Church, 2751 Grant St., will have a Christmas Eve candlelight carol service at 7:30 p.m. at the church. A Christmas Day worship service will be at 10 a.m. Sunday. Details: 724-339-9661.

Mondays through Thursdays: Lower Burrell Police K-9 T-shirts are available from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the police department. Cost: $25, cash only. Proceeds benefit the K-9 team.

New Kensington

Through Jan. 2: Knead Community Café will be closed for the holidays. Lunch service will resume Jan. 3.

Through Jan. 3: The Community Clothes Closet will be closed for the holidays and will reopen Jan. 3.

Tarentum

Upper Burrell 

Today : Upper Burrell Volunteer Fire Department and Vigilant Hose Company of Portvue are selling tickets for a $15,000 Christmas Cash Giveaway. Cost: $20 per ticket, includes eight numbers. Washington Township

Jan. 22: A super bingo will be at 2 p.m. at Washington Township Volunteer Fire Company No. 1, 4078 Route 66. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. Cost: $35, in advance; $40 at the door if available; includes a dauber and one card for 12 $100 regular games, six $200 games, four $400 games and two $1,000 cover-all jackpot games. There will be food, beverages, instant tickets and a 50/50. Reserved seating available for groups of six or more. Players must be at least 18 years old or accompanied by an adult.
