Leechburg Elks to host annual hoop shoot event
The annual Leechburg Elks Hoop Shoot free throw competition will be at noon Jan. 15 in the Leechburg Area High School gymnasium, Center Avenue.
Boys and girls age 8 to 13 are welcome to participate. Students will be divided into age groups as determined by their age on April 1, 2022. For details, contact event director Anthony Shea at 724-842-8071 or ashea247@comcast.net.

The Westmoreland County Marines held their Christmas Groceries for Veterans Families In Need distribution Dec. 19 at Hillcrest Shopping Center, Lower Burrell. Thanks to Community Market the Marines were able to provide 17 families with about $200 in groceries per family and one family also received toys for Christmas. “Semper Fi, Marines, you did an outstanding job.”
