Cornhole tournament to aid addiction recovery charity

An indoor cornhole tournament to benefit Alexandra’s Light of Hope charity will be from noon to 5 p.m. Feb. 5 at the Springdale Veterans Association Center, 1151 Pittsburgh St., Springdale.

Cash prizes will be awarded to the top three teams. Cost is $80 per team and includes a buffet luncheon. There will be a cash bar. Spectator admission is $15 and also includes the buffet. No professionals, please.

Reservation deadline is Jan. 22. The mission of the group is to help with the well-being of those in addiction recovery through transition support and advocacy. For details and registration, call 724-882-4735 or visit alexandraslightofhope.org.

Thursday: Armstrong County Republican Committee will meet at 7 p.m. at Living Water Church, 629 Woodard Ave. Special guests will be Pennsylvania Superior Court candidate Emily Yuhaniak and Commonwealth Court of Pennsylvania candidate Judge Harry Smail. Anthony Shea will provide an overview of the Pennsylvania judicial system and the roles that each level of the courts play. Parking and entrance are at the rear of the building.
