Burtner House Restoration Society Christmas ornaments available

Burtner House Restoration Society is selling handcrafted Christmas tree ornaments to celebrate the 200th birthday of the homestead in Harrison.

Ornaments are brass with a gold finish and have an image of the house and Christmas tree with a bicentennial banner and are available at Diamond Antiques in Tarentum, and Danielle’s Beauty Shop and Presenting the Hairdressers, both in Natrona Heights, Harrison; and by calling Cindy at 724-227-2970 or Lucy at 724-224-7118.


Stuff a Trailer event planned Dec. 12 in Harrison

Protectors of the Phoenix will host a Stuff A Trailer event from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 12 in Heights Plaza parking lot by Wendy’s.

New toys for all ages, diapers, wipes and clothes are welcome. Donations will help Allegheny Family Network. For details, call 724-681-8247.


Reservations needed for free holiday family dinner

New Kensington-Arnold School District will host a free holiday student family dinner Dec. 15 in the Valley Jr.-Sr. High School cafeteria for district students and their parents and guardians.

Seatings will be at 4:30 and 6 p.m. Reservations are required by Tuesday. To make a reservation, send a slip containing your child’s name, the number of students and adults and which seating you would like to attend to your child’s school.


Toy collection to benefit Toys for Alle-Kiski Kids

Washington Township Volunteer Fire Department is collecting new, unwrapped toys through Friday to be donated to Toys for Alle-Kiski Kids.

A collection bin is at the main entrance of the township building, 285 Pine Run Road.


Thank you

Christina Faltot would like to thank everyone to donated and helped with the recent Winter Ready Rams coat drive to benefit students in the Highlands School District. Almost 250 coats for students and five large bags of adult coats were collected. Adult coats were given to Allegheny Valley Association of Churches and every item collected was shared with a member of the community in need. “Without your warm hearts, we couldn’t make all of these warm hands possible.”

Children will receive a craft and treat bag and can wave to Santa and bring their list to be placed in his mailbox. Donations will be accepted to benefit church ministries and maintenance.
