Winter clothing collection ongoing at Knead Community Cafe

Knead Community Café, 1011 Barnes St., New Kensington, is collecting new winter hats, gloves, scarves and socks in all sizes for distribution at its weekly Grab N Go meals.

Items for children are especially needed. Donations will be accepted during regular café hours: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays, and 8 to 11 a.m. Saturdays.


Santa to visit Lower Burrell

Lower Burrell Volunteer Fire Company No. 3 will escort Santa Claus around the city to meet children from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday. Dec. 31: Apollo Hose Co. No. 2 will host a New Year’s Eve bingo at 8 p.m. at the firehall, 325 N. Fourth St. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. The kitchen will be open with a full menu.
