Highlands students to present winter concert
The Highlands High School Choirs will present their winter concert, “Christmas Classics” at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the high school auditorium, Natrona Heights.
Performances will be by the Concert Choir, Honors Choir and Variations Show Choir. Donations will be accepted to benefit the spring musical production.
League of Artists host exhibit in Verona
Allegheny Valley League of Artists is having an exhibit through Jan. 30 at the Western Pennsylvania Center for the Arts Music Store, 300 James St., Verona.
Hours are noon to 8 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Fridays. For details, email cindy_downard@yahoo.com.
Produce to People distribution planned at new location
Food distribution by Produce to People, sponsored by the Allegheny Valley Association of Churches, will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday in the old Rite-Aid building, 411 Corbet St., Tarentum.
Bring a box, durable bags, a laundry basket, a cooler or wheeled cart for the food.
Volunteers are always needed and should plan to arrive after 4 p.m. Individuals, groups and organizations, including high school or college students looking for a project, are welcome. For information, call the Association of Churches at 724-226-0606.
Community band concert set Tuesday in Leechburg
The Kiski Valley Community Band will present a Christmas concert at 7 p.m. at the Marconi Club, 135 River Ave., Leechburg.
The performance will feature audience favorites, such as “A Christmas Festival” and “Sleigh Ride,” both by Leroy Anderson, as well as vocal performances and audience participation.
Donations will be accepted for the Leechburg Food Bank.
HOPE Center seeks support for program
The HOPE Center is seeking support for its annual Adopt-A-Family Christmas Program to benefit HOPE Center families.
This program is recommended for individuals, families, community groups, businesses, churches, schools, or anyone looking to do something for those in need and give back to their community and is easy, convenient, and designed to meet any budget. Items can be returned to the HOPE Center or arrangements can be made for pick up.
If you are interested in “adopting a family” to buy Christmas items for this year, call the administrative office at 724-224-1100 to request a family size and wish list.
Calendar raffle to benefit Animal Protectors
Animal Protectors of Allegheny Valley is sponsoring a calendar raffle for 2020.
