Festival of Trees raffle supports hospital projects

Allegheny Valley Hospital Auxiliary is hosting its annual Festival of Trees raffle to benefit projects supporting the hospital.

Each hospital department decorates a tree to be raffled off and they are on display in the lobby. Tickets are 10 for $5 or 25 for $10 and may be purchased from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. weekdays in the lobby of the hospital, 1301 Carlisle St., Natrona Heights. Cash only, please. Winners receive a fully decorated tree.

The drawing will be at noon Dec. 19.


Community carol sing-along planned Wednesday

Highlands Senior Center and Faith Community Partners will host a community Christmas carol sing-along at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Dalton’s Edge Senior Living Complex, 704 E. Second Ave., Tarentum.

Refreshments will be served. The public is welcome.

Lions Club charity dinner to include $5K worth of prizes

The annual Jack Marino Tarentum Area Lions Club Charity Dinner and Drawing will be at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at River Forest Country Club, Allegheny Township.

Prizes totaling $5,000 will be given away and winners need not be present. Proceeds will benefit Lions Club charities. Cost is $65, advance tickets sales only.

Deer Lakes students to serve holiday luncheon

The Deer Lakes High School Student Council will host the annual Senior Citizen Holiday Luncheon Dec. 18 at the high school, 163 East Union Road, West Deer. Entertainment will begin at 12:30 p.m. in the auditorium and the luncheon will follow at 1:30 p.m.

The menu will include carved ham, herb roasted potatoes with gravy, sweet potatoes, corn, green beans, pasta salad, rolls and dessert. Senior citizens who live in the school district are welcome. Cost is $10 and reservations are required.

Shuttle service will be provided from the high school parking lot. Handicap parking will be available. Reply by Thursday to 724-265-5300, ext. 2227.
