NK Arts Center to celebrate ninth anniversary

The New Kensington Arts Center will host a dinner celebrating nine years of arts programming at a gala planned for 6 p.m. March 9 at the Quality Inn, 300 Tarentum Bridge Road, New Kensington.

There will be entertainment, raffles and a cash bar. Cost is $45 per person or $80 per couple. For tickets, email info@nkartscenter.org.


Voting for quilt show favorites to continue through March 2

Community Library of Allegheny Valley will host its 26th annual Quilt Show Thursday to March 2 online and in person at the library, 1522 Broadview Blvd., Natrona Heights.

Entries will be accepted through Wednesday and voting will begin Thursday at the library. There is no cost to enter, view or vote on a quilt. The quilt with the most votes in each category will be announced at a reception planned for March 2.

Free lunch offered Wednesday at Allegheny Valley Church of God

Allegheny Valley Church of God, 216 Catalpa St., New Kensington, will serve free lunches at noon Wednesday.

March 9: The Audubon Society of Western Pennsylvania will sponsor a program on maple sugaring at Buffalo Creek Nature Park, 154 Monroe Road. A naturalist will lead a walk through the history of maple sugaring. Sessions will be at 10, 10:30, 11 and 11:30 a.m. Rain or shine. Cost: $10; and Audubon Society members, $6. Reservations required.
