Free shuttle service available for NK, Arnold residents

The New Ken Downtown Partnership and Wesley Family Services sponsors a free shuttle service from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays for residents of New Kensington and Arnold.

Residents can be picked up at their homes and be taken to Golden Dawn and Aldi, both in New Kensington, and Walmart and Aldi, both in Pittsburgh Mills in Frazer.

Riders must be at least 18 years old and shuttles are smoke-free. For details and a schedule, call Kevin Cox at 724-895-8270.


Program about human trafficking planned Wednesday

CSAY Northmoreland will sponsor a seminar on human trafficking from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Burrell High School, Puckety Church Road, Lower Burrell.

Kristin Malone-Bodair will be the speaker. The public is welcome.

March 9: The Pittsburgh Shrine Center, 1877 Shriners Way, will host a night at the races at the center. Doors open at 5 p.m. Dinner will be served at 6 p.m. and races begin at 7 p.m. Cost: $25; horses, $10 additional; table of eight, $160. Harrison

Tuesday: A story time for children age 3 to 5 will be at 10 a.m. at Community Library of Allegheny Valley, 1522 Broadview Blvd. Siblings welcome. This week’s theme will be quilts. No reservations required.

Tuesdays: Redemption Church, 232 Hillcrest Drive, will offer a GriefShare support group for anyone who has lost a loved one from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesdays through April 16 at the church. Through Feb. 29: Allegheny Valley League of Artists will sponsor an exhibit of the works of member Lynn Jacques at Peoples Library, 3052 Wachter Ave. Hours: 1 to 8 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesdays and Fridays and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays.

New Kensington

Tuesday and Saturday: The Community Clothes Closet, 1129 Kenneth Ave., will be open from noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday and 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. Items available include clothing for all members of the family, shoes and linens. First-time customers receive 15 free items. Winter clothing donations welcome during business hours.

Oakmont
