Knead Community Cafe accepting donations

Knead Community Café, New Kensington, is accepting donations to help in the daily operation of the café, 1011 Barnes St.

Items on the café’s wish list include: sweetened ice tea mix in canisters, regular ground or decaf coffee; full-size aluminum foil steam pans, 12-ounce Styrofoam bowls for salads, iodized table salt and fine ground pepper to refill shakers, coffee stirrers and gift cards to Sam’s Club and Amazon. Bowling fundraiser to aid Animal Protectors of Allegheny Valley

Animal Protectors of Allegheny Valley will host, “Pins for Pets” a benefit bowling party at 3 p.m. Sunday at Nesbit Bowling Lanes, 3501 Leechburg Road, Plum.

Cost is $20 and includes two games, shoes, pizza, cake, pop and snacks. There will be a basket auction and 50/50 raffle.

Tickets are available at the shelter, 533 Linden Ave., New Kensington, or by calling 724-339-7388.

Deer Lakes students to showcase talent

The annual Deer Lakes Got Talent Show will be at 7 p.m. Friday in the high school auditorium, 163 East Union Road, West Deer.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. The show features performances from students in kindergarten through 12th grade.

Admission is $5 at the door and there will be concessions and a 50/50 raffle. Proceeds will support this year’s production of, “Cats.”

Greenwood Memorial Park to remove items

Greenwood Memorial Park will be removing all flowers and decorations on March 1.

Anything you wish to keep should be removed prior to this date.

Leechburg

June 6: Leechburg Public Library is accepting space applications for a spring book sale and vendor/crafter sale planned for 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Leechburg Volunteer Fire Hall, First Street. Cost: $20 for an 8-foot space; plus a donation of an item worth at least $15 for the auction. Electricity available by request. Vendors should bring their own table; however tables will be available for an additional $10. Paid reservations required. Oakmont

Friday: The free movie series at 7 p.m. at Oakmont Presbyterian Church, 415 Pennsylvania Ave. will feature the film, “Wish Man,” the story of the man who created the Make A Wish Foundation, in the church multi-purpose room on the lower level. Free popcorn. Details: 412-828-5770
