Annual Shamrock Shuffle event planned in West Leechburg

The St. Patrick’s Day Shamrock Shuffle 5K and one-mile Fun Walk will begin at 10 a.m. March 23 at West Leechburg Firehall, 1116 Gosser St.

The course will run through the streets of West Leechburg and return to the fire hall. A virtual option is also available. Check-in begins at 9 a.m. Cost is $25 for the live 5K, and $20 for the live Family Walk and both virtual events.

Participants must register by March 6 to be guaranteed a race t-shirt. Costumes are encouraged and leashed furry friends are welcome. To register, visit sempergratuspgh.org/events. Springdale library collecting old pill bottles

Springdale Free Public Library is collecting empty pill bottles to send to an international humanitarian aid and disaster relief organization.

Bottles from prescription and over-the-counter bottles with and without child-proof caps can be donated. Labels should be removed.

March 9: The Pittsburgh Shrine Center, 1877 Shriners Way, will host a night at the races at the center.
