Bowling fundraiser to aid Stray Cat Sanctuary

The Strikes for Strays bowling fundraiser will be from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. Saturday at Nesbit’s Lanes, 3501 Leechburg Road, Plum.

Tickets are $25 per bowler and include three hours of bowling, shoe rental, pizza and pop; $15 for non-bowlers and includes pizza and pop; and $50 to sponsor a lane. Proceeds will benefit Stray Cat Sanctuary in Leechburg. For tickets, visit tinyurl.com/bp6p6trz.


Tasters welcome Saturday at soup cook-off

Brackenridge American Legion Auxiliary will sponsor its sixth annual soup cook-off Saturday at the post, 845 First Ave.

Bring your best soup in a roaster or stock pot by 12:30 p.m., and your recipe if you wish to share it. Sampling and judging will be from 1 to 2 p.m. by all adults who attend and winners will be announced. Soup will be sold as a fundraiser for the auxiliary, takeout or dine in and prizes will be awarded.
