Jewelry bash to benefit Flying Changes Equine Rescue

The Karats for Horses Jewelry Bash will be Sunday at the Springdale Veteran’s Association, 1151 Pittsburgh St., Springdale.

Doors open at noon. Tickets are $40 or $280 for table of eight and include lunch and an entry in the fine jewelry drawing. Winners need not be present.

There will be a pick of the table drawing with pieces from Judith Ripka, Brighton and Pandora, a basket auction, vendors and 50/50 raffle.

Leechburg

Leechburg Area Pool to discuss pool future

The Leechburg Area Pool will have an emergency meeting at 6 p.m. Sunday at the Gilpin municipal building, Route 66, to discuss the future of the pool.

The pool board needs to find volunteers and board members to tackle the task of getting the pool ready for the season as well as complete projects to maintain the pool.

Anyone who is interested in the future of the pool is asked to attend.


Westmoreland County

Job fair and career expo planned Wednesday

The Westmoreland Assists Native Talent (WANT) Job and Career Expo will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Wednesday at the Ramada Greensburg Hotel and Conference Center, 100 Ramada Inn Dr, Hempfield.

The free event will feature recruitment for full-time, part-time, summer and internship positions and there will be two workshops at 12:30 p.m.

Registration is not required, but those who register before Tuesday will be entered into a drawing for various gift cards worth up to $100. Resumes and professional attire are strongly recommended. To register, visit wantexpo.org or call 724-838-8040.
