Magic and comedy show planned in Harrison

Natrona Heights Veterans of Foreign Wars will sponsor a comedy and magic show with dinner March 11at the post, 894 Veterans Drive.

Doors open at 5 p.m. and dinner will be served at 6. The show featuring Michael Misko will begin at 8 p.m. There will be a cash bar, pull tabs and a 50-50 raffle.

Tickets on sale now for annual bowling party fundraiser

The Pins for Pets bowling party to benefit Animal Protectors of Allegheny Valley will be at 3 p.m. March 12 at Nesbit Bowling Lanes, 3501 Leechburg Road, Plum.

Admission is $25 and includes two hours of bowling, shoe rental, two slices of pizza, cake, pop and snacks.

Armstrong Conservation group to have tree seedling sale

Armstrong Conservation District will conduct its annual fruit tree and seedling sale through March 3.

Fruit varieties include apple, apricot, peach and plum. Trees range from 3 to 6 feet in height, are bare rooted and packed in peat moss. Cost is $25. Tree guards are available at $3 each. Varieties are limited and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Orders are encouraged to be placed early.

Available tree seedling varieties include American common persimmon, American plum, arrowwood viburnum, black walnut, chestnut oak, Colorado blue spruce, Eastern white pine, Norway spruce, red mulberry, silky dogwood and winterberry holly. All are sold in bundles of 25. Cost is $25 per bundle. Prices include tax.

Saturday : The American Legion Auxiliary will sponsor a soup cook-off from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at the post, 845 First Ave. Bring your best soup in a slow cooker or roaster by 12:30 p.m., and your recipe if you wish to share it. Soup will be sold as a fundraiser for the auxiliary, takeout or dine in. Prizes will be awarded at 3 p.m. to the top three soups, as voted by people sampling.
