Tickets on sale now for annual bowling party fundraiser
The Pins for Pets bowling party to benefit Animal Protectors of Allegheny Valley will be at 3 p.m. March 17 at Nesbit Bowling Lanes, 3501 Leechburg Road, Plum.
Admission is $25; $15 for children 10 and younger, and includes two hours of bowling, shoe rental, two slices of pizza, cake, pop and snacks. There will be a basket raffle and 50-50.

Tree and seedling sale to benefit Armstrong Conservation District
Armstrong Conservation District is conducting its annual fruit tree and seedling sale through March 1.
Fruit trees available include varieties of apple, apricot, cherry, peach, pear and plum. Trees range from 4 to 6 feet in height, are bare rooted and packed in peat moss. Cost is $25. Tree guards are available at $3 each. Varieties are limited and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
Tree seedling varieties available include American Common Persimmon, Arrowwood Viburnum, Buttonbush, Colorado Blue Spruce, Eastern Redbud, Eastern White Pine, Paw Paw, Red Spruce, Scarlet Oak, Shadblow Serviceberry, Silky Dogwood and Winterberry Holly. Cost is $25 for a bundle of 25 and includes tax. Proceeds benefit county environmental projects and activities.

Spaghetti dinner to honor injured Harrison EMT
A spaghetti dinner in honor of Citizens Hose EMT Kelly Jackson who was injured Jan. 6 while working traffic control will be from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Veterans of Foreign Wars, 894 Veterans Lane, Harrison.
Jackson will be celebrating her birthday Sunday and has asked that proceeds be donated to the Alle-Kiski Health Foundation. The foundation has paid for schooling for EMT certification for many people in our area including Jackson and she would like to pay it forward.
There will be a basket auction, bake sale and 50-50 raffle. Cost is $10; 5 and younger, $5.
