Canned food drive to benefit food bank

Tarentum Recreation Board and Allegheny Valley Association of Churches is conducting a canned food drive through March 8 to benefit the association food bank.

Bins are set up in the following Tarentum businesses: Seita Jewelers, Harvest Moon Coffee and Chocolates, Asay’s News Stand, Dry Bones, Costello Printing, Diamond Antiques and Merle Norman Cosmetics.


Lower Burrell Meals on Wheels seeking volunteers

Lower Burrell Meals on Wheels is seeking volunteers to help in the kitchen and make deliveries in Arnold, New Kensington and Lower Burrell.

To give a couple of hours per week of your time, call 724-334-4404 and leave a message.


Free diapers available in Tarentum

The free diaper bank at Highlands Family Center will be open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday at the center, 415 E. Fourth Ave., Tarentum.
