Winter festival planned in Saxonburg
The Saxonburg Winter Festival will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday along Main Street in Saxonburg.
There will be over 45 vendors, music, carriage rides, a petting zoo, food trucks and children’s activities.
National Pig Day celebration to benefit local rescue
A National Pig Day celebration will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Voodoo Brewing Co., 956 Fifth Ave., New Kensington, to benefit Pigsburgh Squealers Pig Rescue in Frazer.
There will be pig-themed drinks, flights and food and several pigs will be on hand to visit.
Donations will be accepted and a portion of proceeds will be donated to the rescue.
Tree seedling sale to continue through Wednesday
Armstrong Conservation District will accept orders for its annual tree seedling sale through Wednesday.
Fruit trees available include varieties of apple, cherry, peach, plum and pear. A bundle of 25 seedlings costs $25 and includes tax. Varieties are limited and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
Tree seedling varieties available include American Common Persimmon, American elderberry, American plum, Colorado blue spruce, Cooks blue balsam fir, Fraser fir, silver maple, white oak and while black cherry, all $25 each; shagbark hickory, $30; and paw paw, $32; all for a bundle of 25 and includes tax. Proceeds benefit county environmental projects and activities.
