TryLife Center seeking volunteers
TryLife Center will host a Volunteer Night from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Lower Burrell center, 1155 Wildlife Lodge Road.
The center serves expecting mothers and families with children younger than 3 years old by offering education, materials and counseling.

Health foundation sponsors workshop
Allegheny-Kiski Health Foundation will sponsor a free workshop, “Elder Legal Issues Part I” from 6 to 7:30 p.m. March 11 at the foundation, One Acee Drive, Natrona Heights, Harrison.
Attorney Laurel Hartshorn will discuss legal matters that may affect you and your family, including wills, trusts, probate, power of attorney, wealth preservation and paying for nursing home care.

Supplies available for cleanup projects
Pick Up Pennsylvania, an initiative supporting the Great American Cleanup, offers free trash bags, gloves and safety vests to groups who wish to register and participate in the Great American Cleanup March 1 through May 31.
Events can include litter cleanups, illegal dump cleanups, community greening and beautification, special collections and educational events. The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection and Pennsylvania Waste Industries Association will sponsor free or reduced cost trash disposal during April for registered participants and participating landfills with prior approval.

Mediterranean diet cooking class offered
The Westmoreland County Penn State Extension Office, 214 Donohoe Road, suite E, Hempfield, will offer a class, “Let’s Cook Mediterranean,” from 6 to 8 p.m. March 19 at the office.

Grants available to non-profit art groups
The Westmoreland County Bureau of Parks and Recreation is offering grants to non-profit organizations to support art-related projects and activities that benefit county residents.
Local non-profit arts organizations and governmental units involved in the production or display of arts activities are eligible to apply. Eligible arts activities include projects involving music, theater, dance and other performing and visual arts.
Projects that are not open to the public, take place outside the county, have a religious purpose or serve as vehicles for prizes, fundraising or academic credit are not eligible.
