Evening of chocolate to benefit Animal Protectors
Animal Protectors of Allegheny Valley will host, “Chocolate Paws,” an evening of chocolate from 6 to 9 p.m. March 28 at River Forest Country Club, Allegheny Township.
The Murphy’s Music Jazz Band will entertain, and there will be a cash bar, basket auction and 50/50 raffle. The buffet dinner will include pasta with meatballs and chicken with marinara, alfredo and primavera sauces, salad, rolls, bruschetta, desserts and chocolate beverages.
Tickets are $35 and include dinner and a free drink ticket. For tickets, visit Animal Protectors of Allegheny Valley on Facebook. Ticket deadline is March 14. No tickets will be sold at the door.
Lower Burrell Lions broom sale continues

A pancake brunch will be served every half hour. Last seating for the brunch will be at 1 p.m. and afterward a naturalist will lead a walk through the history of maple sugaring. Rain or shine. May 2: Highlands Relay for Life will sponsor a Night at the Races at Natrona Heights Veterans of Foreign Wars, 894 Veterans Lane. Doors open at 5 p.m. and races will begin at 6. Tickets: $20, include a horse, food, soft drinks and beer; $10 for those who want to buy a horse but can’t attend. Cash bar. Those attending must be at least 21 years old.
