Free event about Second Amendment rights planned

State Rep. Joseph Petrarca will host a free informational event about concealed carry Second Amendment rights from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the West Leechburg Firemen’s Recreation Hall, 1116 Gosser St.

Representatives from the county sheriff’s office, state police, local law enforcement and the state Game Commission will be on hand and answer questions.

A-K Health Foundation to present program about home invasions

The Allegheny-Kiski Health Foundation will present a free community seminar, “Home Invasion Prevention and Preparation,” at 6 p.m. Feb. 12 in the William and Grayce Walker Conference Room at the foundation offices, 1 Acee Drive, Harrison.

R. J. Makowski, co-owner of Makowski Martial Arts & Fitness in Saxonburg will be the speaker. Topics will include situational awareness, castle doctrine and basic physical skills to survive assaults.
