Free advice available for those with financial troubles

Allegheny Valley Association of Churches has free support services available for anyone who is having trouble making ends meet, is unemployed or needs help with budgeting and talking to bill collectors.

Sponsorships available for Highlands HS musical

The Highlands High School Musical Drama Department is accepting financial contributions for this year’s musical “Disney’s Descendants the Musical” scheduled March 22, 23 and 24 in the high school auditorium in Harrison.

A variety of sponsorship levels are available. Checks made payable to HHS Musical Productions can be mailed to: Highlands High School, 1500 Pacific Ave., Natrona Heights, PA 15065. Attn: Michael Zeiler. Deadline to contribute and be recognized in the program is March 11.

East Vandergrift  

Feb. 10: Our Lady, Queen of Peace Parish will host a cash bash in the church social hall, 411 McKinley Ave. Doors open at 5 p.m. and the first number will be drawn at 7 p.m. Cost: $30, includes food, beverages and a chance to win $3,000 in cash prizes. Must be 21 to attend. There will be pull tabs, a scratch-off lottery board, theme baskets and 50-50 raffles. Today : The Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary will sponsor a super bingo at 2 p.m. at the post, 894 Veterans Lane. New Kensington

Tuesday and Saturday: The Community Clothes Closet, 1129 Kenneth Ave., will be open from noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday and 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. Items available include clothing for all members of the family, shoes, purses, blankets and linens. First-time customers receive 15 free items. Winter clothing donations welcome during business hours.

Oakmont

Thursday: The dementia caregiver support group at South Butler Community Library will meet from 6 to 7 p.m. at the library, 240 W. Main St. The group will meet the second Thursday of each month and provides a safe place for caregivers to share their feelings and discuss their day-to-day challenges. No reservations required.
