Cat rescue seeking food donations

Frankie’s Friends Cat Rescue, New Kensington, is in need of donations of Purina Cat Chow Complete in the blue bag.

Items can be dropped off from 9 to 10 a.m. or 5 to 7 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays or shipped to the rescue at 730 Fifth Ave.

Fox Chapel

Tuesday: The Fox Chapel Area Branch of The American Association of University Women will host a free lecture about the Alliance for Refugee Youth Support and Education that helps immigrant children in the city at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Fox Chapel Presbyterian Church, 384 Fox Chapel Road. Mondays: Se Jong Tae Kwon Do will offer free tae kwon do classes at 6:30 p.m. in the social hall at Our Lady of Victory Church, 1319 Low Grade Road, Harwick. Details: 724-274-4170

Vandergrift

Monday: A new Chess Club for children in kindergarten through eighth grade will meet from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Mondays through March 23 at Vandergrift Public Library, 128C Washington Ave. No experience necessary. A local chess master and volunteers will work with children and teach basic moves and strategy. Registration is encouraged, but drop-ins are welcome. Registration: 724-568-2212
