Used musical instruments wanted for children

Non-profit organization the Play It Forward program of the Farina Foundation collects used musical instruments, has them repaired and donates them to underserved schools and underprivileged children in western Pennsylvania.

Founded to continue the outreach of the late Frank. J. Farina Jr., former chairman of the North Allegheny High School music department, the foundation partners with North Allegheny Foundation, the Education Partnership, Pennsylvania Music Educators Association, Brighton Music Centers, Johnstonbaugh Music Centers, local and national thrift stores, and the music therapy departments of UPMC Children’s Hospital, the Children’s Institute of Pittsburgh and Wesley Family Services.

Wind instruments such as clarinets, flutes and trumpets are especially needed. Instrument donations can be dropped off at Brighton Music Center, 2110 Babcock Blvd. #1, Pittsburgh, PA 15209 or send an email to thefarinafoundation@gmail.com to arrange a pickup.
