Academy Singers seeking members

The Academy Singers Community Choir is looking for new voices to join their group.

The Academy Singers is for singers who want to learn more about choral singing. Selections will include standards, Broadway hits, jazz and light classical music. All voice parts are welcome.

Rehearsals are from 6:15 to 8:15 p.m. Tuesdays beginning Jan. 28 at the studio in Allegheny Towne Center, Allegheny Township. Sandy Rubright is director.

Tuesday: Allegheny Valley Hospital PriorityCare program will offer the one day AARP Smart Driver Program refresher course from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the AVH Outpatient Center auditorium, 651 Fourth Ave. Participants must have completed the two-day class within the past 36 months and bring a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license. Fee: $15 for AARP members (valid card required); $20 for non-members. Reservations required. Reservations: 412-330-4469
