Professionals available to speak to local groups
The Concordia Lutheran Ministries Speakers Bureau has senior-care professionals available to speak to organizations and community groups free of charge.
Topics available include fall prevention and chronic disease management, senior nutrition, senior living, advance directives, end of life decision making, health and wellness, dementia and Alzheimer’s disease education, nutrition for a healthy lifestyle and more. A full list of topics is available.

Free monthly lunch to be served at Allegheny Valley Church of God
Allegheny Valley Church of God, 216 Catalpa St., New Kensington, will host a free open door luncheon at noon Wednesday.
Homemade vegetable soup and more will be served as long as the food lasts. For details, call 724-335-0994.

Burrell School District
Burrell Kindergarten registration set
Burrell School District will conduct kindergarten registration Jan. 21 and 22 at Bon Air School for all incoming students.
Please register according to the dates and times listed below:
• Jan. 21: 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. or 1 to 3 p.m. — last names beginning A-L.
• Jan. 22: 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. to 1 to 3 p.m.— last names beginning M-Z.
It is not necessary for children to accompany their parent. Forms are available under the News tab at burrell.k12.pa.us.
When registering, parents or guardians must provide the original birth certificate, immunization record, current driver’s license or state ID and proof of residency, and at least one of the following: lease agreement, deed/mortgage agreement or sales agreement that indicates completion date of home sale, and one of the following: current property tax statement, utility bill or public assistance documents.
Children entering kindergarten for the 2020-2021 school year must be age 5 on or before Sept. 1, 2020.
