Community Library of Allegheny Valley honored by Pa. Library Association

Community Library of Allegheny Valley in Harrison was named a Gold Star Library for the fourth quarter of 2020.

The PAForward Star Library Technical Committee reviews submissions from all types of libraries and certifies the quality of programming provided. Star achievements are recognized for one year from completion and require an annual review to maintain Star Status.


Grab-and-go dinners to be passed out at Knead Community Cafe

Knead Community Café in New Kensington will hand out free grab-and-go dinners from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the café, 1011 Barnes St.

This week’s dinner is sponsored by Carrie Riggle and Ed Kennedy and The Caring Bunch. Those picking up meals are reminded to observe social distancing while they wait in line.


West Leechburg seeking volunteers for municipal boards

West Leechburg Borough is looking for residents to volunteer as members of the zoning hearing, vacancy and recreation boards.
