Burrell HS choirs to perform benefit concert

The choirs of Burrell High School, Lower Burrell, will present Snow Day Cabaret at 7 p.m. today in the high school cafeteria, Puckety Church Road.

There will be music, desserts and hot chocolate. Admission is $10 and proceeds will be used to establish a scholarship to be awarded to one of the seniors in the choir.


Team reservations being accepted for cornhole tournament

An indoor cornhole tournament to benefit Alexandra’s Light of Hope charity will be from noon to 5 p.m. Feb. 5 at the Springdale Veterans Association Center, 1151 Pittsburgh St., Springdale.

Cash prizes will be awarded to the top three teams. Cost is $80 per team and includes a buffet luncheon. There will be a cash bar. Spectator admission is $15 and also includes the buffet. No professionals, please.

Saturday: The Outdoor Discovery Center at Crooked Creek, 142 Kerr Road, will host a lecture, “But It’s Just a Day Hike, and Other Famous Last Words,” from noon to 2 p.m. at the center. Instructors from the True North Wilderness Survival School will discuss how to better protect yourself and others during your next outdoor adventure. Suitable for those who are at least 13-years-old. Washington Township

Doors open at 11:30 a.m. Cost: $35, in advance; $40 at the door if available; includes a dauber and one card for 12 $100 regular games, six $200 games, four $400 games and two $1,000 cover-all jackpot games.
