Bowling fundraiser to aid St. Joseph HS student
The St. Joseph High School Bowling Team is sponsoring a bowling fundraiser from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Wildlife Lanes, Lower Burrell, to support fellow student Eli Swierczewski who is battling Ewing’s sarcoma.
Cost is $20 and includes bowling and shoe rental. Reservations are required. For reservations, email mpater@saintjosephhs.com.
Pink Day event to feature music, raffles
A fundraiser to benefit the Leechburg Pink Day event will be at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Marconi Club, 135 River Ave., Leechburg.
Doors open at 5 p.m. Entertainment will be by King Lou Hock and his Flying Circus, with special guests the Lenny Collini 4 Pack and the Love Generation.
There will be food, a cash bar, silent auction and raffles. Admission is free.

Free screenings offered Jan. 29 in New Kensington
Free hepatitis C and HIV screenings will be available from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Jan. 29 at the New Kensington Community Health Clinic, 943 Fourth Ave.
Those at risk for hepatitis C include those with current and previous injection drug use; received or donated blood, blood products and organs prior to 1992; who spent many years on dialysis or received body piercings or tattoos with non-sterile instruments.
Results will be available in 20 minutes and those with positive results will receive referrals to confirmatory testing. No appointment is necessary. Residents of all counties welcome.
Free book for parents available
The Pennsylvania Homecare Association is offering, “The Care We Share: A Family Guide to In-Home Pediatric Care,” a free 36-page resource for parents of children with complex medical needs.
The publication includes information and tips for parents as they bring home a child with complex medical needs such as ventilators, trach collars and feeding tubes.
