Valentine’s Day luncheon planned at American Legion

The Tarentum Recreation Board will sponsor a Valentine’s Day luncheon at 1 p.m. Feb. 14 at the Brackenridge American Legion, 845 First Ave.

Cost is $20 each. The menu includes chicken, stuffed cabbage, penne pasta, potatoes, vegetable, rolls, cake and beverage. Entertainment will be by Nick Fiasco.

Residents needed to serve on Agan Park Committee

Springdale Borough is accepting letters of interest from residents who would like to serve on the Agan Park Committee.

Agan Park is a joint venture with Cheswick and Springdale. Letters of interest should be mailed to the borough office at 325 School St., Springdale PA 15144. Deadline is Feb. 12.

Monday: A new Chess Club for children in kindergarten through eighth grade will meet from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Mondays through March 23 at Vandergrift Public Library, 128C Washington Ave. No experience necessary. A local chess master and volunteers will work with children and teach basic moves and strategy. Registration is encouraged, but drop-ins are welcome. Registration: 724-568-2212
