Lenten fish fry listings wanted

Ash Wednesday is Feb. 22 and the Stroller is compiling a list of fish fries taking place Ash Wednesday and/or Fridays during Lent.

Tax help available locally for senior citizens

AARP Tax volunteers will provide free tax preparation services for senior citizens at locations in New Kensington, Avonmore, Apollo and Vandergrift. Services are by appointment.

Annual Shamrock Shuffle event planned in West Leechburg

The St. Patrick’s Day Shamrock Shuffle 5K and one-mile Fun Walk will begin at 10 a.m. March 18 at West Leechburg Fire Department Social Hall, 1116 Gosser St.

The course will run through the streets of West Leechburg and return to the fire hall. A virtual option is also available. Check-in begins at 9 a.m. Cost is $25 for the live 5K, and $20 for the live Family Walk and both virtual events.

Middle school students to present, ‘Newsies Jr.’

The drama club at Charles A. Huston Middle School, Lower Burrell, will present the musical, “Newsies Jr.,” at 7 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday in the school auditorium, Puckety Church Road.
